Our Wedding

Grace and Simon met via chance encounter one fated night on December 19th, 2019. Their mutual friend Maddie Haden was celebrating her 21st birthday party in one of the student apartments at Emory's Clairmont Campus, where Simon worked up the courage to tell Grace he thought she was beautiful and ask for her number. A month later, they went on their first date, where they got breakfast, folded laundry, and went on a walk through the beautiful Hahn woods and Lullwater preserve (almost 8 hours worth of time together!)They continued to go on dates for the next couple of months, including on Valentine's day. On March 15th of 2020, Emory announced that spring break would be extended to an additional week because of the impending pandemic. Simon invited Grace to go Englewood, FL and drive for 8 hours in the car with himself and his mom Julie, the first time Grace ever met her! On this trip, Simon asked Grace if she would be his girlfriend.One global pandemic, multiple cross country road trips (Grace says that after their 2 week trip out west car camping was when she knew their love would last), a handful of international excursions and 5 and half years later, they are finally engaged and incredibly excited to celebrate their love with you.

We have a small block of rooms available at Candlewood, 14 in total (2 regular suites, 1 bedroom suite with sofa bed in separate room, and 11 2-queen rooms). Subject to availability, please contact the hotel directly for assistance booking one of these rooms.

Garden Party

Garden Party wedding attire falls somewhere around semi-formal to formal but edited for outside, think suits, blazers, dress shirts and dresses/jumpsuits. Everything will be outside, so pick shoes that can handle grass. Fun, flowy, textures, patterns, vibrant jewel tones encouraged, and suit ties optional. We want you to use our wedding as an opportunity to get dressed up and love what you're wearing and how you look, these are your photos too! If you are anything like me (Grace writing this website), the more guidance on what to wear the better. Reference photos shown below to help inspire your outfit choices, but overall, we want you to feel good and confident in what you're in and be able to bust a move outside on the dance floor!

Some of these dresses are super long and overly fancy but the overall message is look great and feel good when you come!

The Parthenon in Nashville is the world’s only exact-size and detail replica of the original temple in Athens, Greece.&nbsp; When Tennessee celebrated its 100th year of statehood with the Tennessee Centennial Exposition, Nashville took advantage of its nickname “Athens of the South” and built the Fine Art Building as a copy of Athens’ most famous building and the epitome of Greek classical architecture.

The Nashville Farmers' Market, founded in the early 1800s, is located in the urban core of downtown Nashville adjacent to the Tennessee State Museum and Bicentennial Mall State Park. The year-round Market provides retail space to farmers, artisans and small businesses.

Cheekwood is a 55-acre botanical garden and art museum located on the historic Cheek estate. Originally built as the home of Leslie and Mabel Cheek in 1929, Cheekwood is one of the finest examples of an American Country Place Era estate.

What's the Weather Going to Be Like?

Nashville in late September should hopefully be beautiful (fingers crossed)! Likely it will be low 80s to high 70s in the late afternoon and evening when we are planning to start.

Can I Bring a Plus One or Children? 

The names of all our guests are listed on the invitations. When you have a plus one, your invitation will say "and Guest." We are so lucky to have many young families among our loved ones, however, we envision our wedding and reception as a "date night" or "parent's night out." We are setting an age minimum of 13, with a few exceptions. If you have any concerns about plus ones or children, please contact us.

Will the Wedding be Indoors or Outdoors

The wedding and reception will be all outside at The Hideout! If needs-must, we have a tent ready and available to be put up if weather requires.

When is the RSVP Deadline? 

August 23rd, 2026 if the RSVP deadline. This allows us to give the most timely and accurate final count to our vendors.

What is the Best Airport to Use?

BNA is the Nashville airport code and is about 20 minutes outside the city.

Where should I bring/send our wedding gift?

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to our home at 2244 Willivee Place, Decatur, GA 30033 or at a bridal shower if you can make it. A wedding card box will be at our reception.

What is the dress code for your wedding?
